On November 2, at a sparkling black-tie ceremony at the luxurious hotel Taj Dubai, SS&C Advent received top honours in the Portfolio Management Technology category at the 2016 WealthBriefing GCC Region Awards, the latest in a string of accolades from industry experts conferred upon the company this year.

Launched in 2014, the awards are intended to elevate the profile of the wealth management profession in the Gulf Cooperation Council or GCC region, comprising the countries of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. Showcasing “best of breed” providers in the global private banking, wealth management and advisor communities, the awards recognize companies, teams and individuals deemed by the judging panel to have “demonstrated innovation and excellence during 2016.” SS&C Advent won on the basis of “a portfolio management solution that covers all the needs of an investment manager” and widespread adoption in the region.

WealthBriefing is regarded as one of the most authoritative sources of news and information on the wealth management sector globally. Publisher Stephen Harris said, “These awards were judged solely on the basis of entrants’ submissions and their response to a number of specific questions, which had to be answered focusing on the client experience, not quantitative performance metrics.
